Family therapy emerged as a distinct discipline in mental health in the early 60's led by psychiatrist Murray Bowen, MD. The fundamental shift in the paradigm at the time was thinking of the problem or "illness" not as a intra-personal or "within-individual" problem as much as it was an interpersonal or "between-individuals" problem. "The whole is greater than the sum of the parts" is a central axiom of this approach.

Death and the loss of a loved one is a natural and expected part of life. There is no "right way" to experience these profound and intense feelings.

Our team is here to assist you through the healing process.
Lifestyle changes can have tremendous benefits to mind, body and spirit. Diet, proper sleep, nutrition, and exercise have been shown to be as impactful to mental and emotional health as medication and talk-therapy in certain cases.
